Surf Shafts
Full Carbon L1
These oars have full carbon shafts, making them the stiffest and lightest surf oar in our range. The low internal mass makes them easy to accelerate during recovery. The light shaft yields a weight in hand of only 2.7kg. This oar is designed for elite level rowers.
Weight: 5000 grams
Blade Shape: Standard & Cleaver
Handle: Standard timber & Carbon
Super Lights L2
These oars have high carbon content, making them stiff and strong. They have a weight in hand of 3kg. They are suitable for rowers of all levels, offering performance and durability.

Standards L3
The L3 has been designed for club use. The greater glass content in the shaft makes this an extremely durable oar. This is a very economical oar for clubs and is suitable for a wide range of rowers, from beginners to elite.
Weight: 600 grams
Blade Shape: Standard & Cleaver
Handle: Standard timber & Carbon
Standard Surf Blade
These conventional blades are similar in shape to their timber predecessors. They have a prominent ridge line which adds strength and stability. They are normally supplied with a 100mm hook, but also available with a flat hook on request.
The unpredictable nature of surfboat rowing places tremendous stress on the components of the oar. These carbon composite blades have proven themselves up to the challenge. This blade is available with closed edges, which improves the blades durability and overall performance. The Surf blade is standard issue on all oars and great for all level of rowers.
Surf Handles
Our surf handles are designed with comfort and ease of use as the highest priority. We have standard timber and carbon handles available on all surf oars.
Timber Handles - The standard timber handles have a 45mm diameter and are available in all Croker Surf Oars. The timber handle is the only non-composite product still in the surf oar. The timber handle is glued in.
Carbon Handles - Carbon handles are strong, stiff and thinner than the timber handle. The carbon handle is extremely easy to replace if broken or damaged. Carbon handles can be fitted with either a blue foam rubber, which contains an anti-bacterial agent that last for the life of the rubber or a timber veneer.
Carbon handles come in 2 sizes.
45mm/42mm - The standard carbon handle has been designed with a larger inside hand measurement of 45mm diameter and a smaller outside hand measurement of 42mm diameter. This has been designed for better control and ease of feathering the oar. The inside hand measurement is the same thickness as the standard timber handle.
42mm - The small carbon handle has been designed with a smaller overall handle diameter. This handle is great for women and junior crews. For those with smaller hands this handle will help minimise forearm fatigue caused by using a larger handle.
Surf Sleeves
Square back surf oars are fitted with grease-free, co-polymer injection moulded sleeve and button system. The geometry of these sleeves provides excellent stability at the catch with a very smooth finish. Round sleeves are made of heat shrink PVC and are fitted with an injection moulded co-polymer button.
Sweep Oars
Timber sweep oars are laminated from spruce and ash offering strength and economy. These oars are available in lengths up to 6 metres (20 feet) and weigh between 10-11kg.
Our latest carbon composite oar is 30% lighter than a timber sweep oar. It is a modular construction comprising of blade, shaft and handle so that in the event of breakage the oar can be disassembled and the broken component replaced. This extremely light oar is slightly stiffer than timber sweep oars and very responsive.
Surf Rowlocks
Stainless steel square back, round and sweep oar rowlocks are available for surf boats.
