Remove Water in Shaft

A combinations of heat and cold water can cause a vaccum causing water to be sucked into a shaft. Check also for splits in the shaft.  Oars left in the weather are more susceptible to this problem when they are heated in the sun and then come into contact with cold water.

To remove water:

  1. Undo screws on the adjustable handle and drain water out. A 16th hole can be drilled into the end of the endcap (please contact us before you start drilling!)

    or

  2. On fixed handles there is a small 16th hole 75mm in from the end of the shaft which the water can drain. Blow into hole and place blade up to let it drain.
